The benchmark stock indices sense and Nifty on Friday increased by about 1 percent, leading to the fresh foreign fund inflow in bank stocks and their fifth day on the back of profit.
The 30-Sare BSE Sensex jumped 557.45 points or 0.73 percent, settling at 76,905.51. During the day, it rose 693.88 points or 0.90 percent to 77,041.94.
NSE Nifty climbed 159.75 points or 0.69 percent to 23,350.40.
Experts said that the US Fed has suggested the possibility of cutting two rates this year to rule optimism in the domestic market this year. On the weekly front, the BSE benchmark gauge increased by 3,076.6 points or 4.16 percent, and the Nifty jumped 953.2 points or 4.25 percent.
